Local Spotlight: Franklin, Tennessee

Welcome to Franklin! This historic village nestled comfortably in the greater Nashville area was recently named one of “The South’s Prettiest Towns” by Southern Living. While only a short jaunt down I-65 to all of the culture and entertainment Music City has to offer, Franklin is an exciting locale in its own right and the perfect spot to raise your family.

One of the best perks of living in Franklin is access to amazing schools. The Williamson County School District is highly rated with plenty of offerings, including Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses. The overall student-teacher ratio is just 15-1, the whole district enjoys high reading and math proficiency scores. Franklin High School was recently rated the 7th best high school in the whole state.

Franklin residents also enjoy over 900 acres of greenery.  The city offers over 18 parks, which includes four football fields, eight tennis courts, two fishing ponds, and more. Your family can spend a Saturday afternoon kayaking, fishing or swimming in the picturesque Harpeth River. Franklin is perfect for those seeking suburban green spaces with quick access to city amenities.

However, there’s no need to drive into Nashville to have a good time when living in Franklin. The city’s lively downtown boasts world-class dining like Red Pony Restaurant, which offers a unique and sophisticated approach to Southern cuisine and the elegant 1892 Leiper’s Fork. The Franklin Theatre is an old-fashioned cinema every town wishes it has and a perfect spot for date night or a family outing. H Clark Distillery, the county’s first legal distillery since Prohibition, offers some of the best bourbon you’ll find in all of Tennessee.
